“We will never completely eliminate fear from our lives, but we can definitely get to the point where our fears do not stop us from daring to think new thoughts, try new things, take risks, fail, start again, and be happy.” -Arianna Huffington
Can my silence over the past few days be interpreted as shame?
Weeeeellll….maybe.
But I’m here now, right? (so f-you, Fear.)
All things considered I didn’t do too badly. It was a long, holiday weekend. AND, I had a guest in my home (my brother, Greg), whom I love very much AND who lives far away AND whom I haven’t seen in about a year.
Did we drink too much and eat peanuts and pizza?
You bet.
Did we stay up too late and sing ugly karaoke?
Of course.
If I had to do it over again, would I?
Yep.
Trying to recapture old times may not always be the healthiest thing for the body but it can do wonders for the spirit.
Furthermore, when I managed to scrape up enough courage to step on the scale this morning, I found that the damage was minimal. Stable and holding. No change from pre-visit levels.
That's a mini-victory as far as I’m concerned…so bite me, Shame.

I'm here! :)
So busy at work (my blog time). :)
I've checked in on you but haven't made time to leave a comment.
Anyway, I had a very shameful weekend, but it was good. And I'm with you, I'd do it again. :)
Although Monday I got a small shock. I stepped on the scale and had a 3 lb weight gain. D'oh! :( But surprisingly, today I was back down those 3 lbs. Relief. Still not great, no loss whatsoever, but I'm trying. I started journaling my food intake again, but then went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch today. I am not going to look up the nutritional value for that. Yikes! :) Anyway, tomorrow is a new day, and tonight I'm staying healthy.
Oh and I forgot to mention, hanging out with your brother sounds like so much fun! I miss my brother. We haven't talked in 4 months because he's a brat like that, but I have a feeling that won't last much longer. Brothers are awesome, when they're not being jerks. :) heh.
Anyway, glad you had such a great time with your brother! Hopefully it won't be too long until you see him again. :)
