Since today is such a beautiful day I decided to walk at the park (Garst Mill) on the Greenway instead of on my boring old treadmill. The trees and flowers along the trail were in full bloom and certain stretches of the walk were drenched in the fragrance of honeysuckle. Every person I passed on the path had at least a smile to exchange if not a friendly 'hello' or 'good morning'. It was a lovely, inspiring walk. I walked 3 miles. I'm sure I wouldn't have done that on the treadmill.
Today I'm going to shop for some better foods for the house (fresh fruits, whole grains, etc) but I don't want to go too hog wild (haha - hog..going wild for fresh fruits and whole grains...poor word choice..sorry). What I'm trying to say is that I want to ease into it this time. (Apparently I need to add turkey bacon to my list as while I was typing this blog the cats and dog found the turkey bacon left on the kitchen counter).
I stayed under my 'points' value for WW yesterday (my first day)....I wonder if I'm supposed to try to hit that target or just leave well enough alone. Maybe I'll stop by there today while I'm out running errands. I also need to start reading my new book: A New Earth... or something like that...Oprah keeps going on about it so I thought I'd give it a go. I really wanted to buy the new Anita Blake vampire novel by Laurell K. Hamilton but I thought that is too much like brain candy and if I'm working on creating a healthier body I should work on the mind too. Maybe I'll make that book a reward for reaching a weight goal. Jean-Claude here I come!
